Getting Started with Azure Virtual Desktop
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) provides a flexible and secure cloud-based solution for accessing your company applications and desktops from virtually anywhere. Whether you're working remotely, on the go, or at your desk, AVD ensures you have seamless access to your work resources through a familiar Windows environment.
This guide will walk you through the steps to get started with Azure Virtual Desktop, including setting up the Windows app and signing in to your virtual desktop. Follow along to quickly and easily gain access to your work tools and resources.
📋 Prerequisites
You will need:
- Your Astute Login Details
- Permission to use Access to Azure Virtual Desktop
- Multi-Factor Authentication Setup on your Astute Account (See Multi-Factor Authentication Setup Guide)
📥 Step 1: Open the Windows App Website
Use the link on your Desktop to access AVD, or visit https://avd.astute.com/.
🔑 Step 2: Sign in with your user account
When prompted, sign-in to Microsoft 365 using your Astute login details.
After you sign in, the Devices screen shows the Remote Desktops you have access to. If you don't see any devices or apps, contact your Manager.
🖥️ Step 3: Click the Desktop you want to use
Find the Remmote Desktop you want to connect to and click it.
You might be prompted to enter the password for your user account again.
You should now be connected into the Remote Desktop.
