Setup Passwordless Sign-in

Passwordless sign-in lets you securely sign in to your work account without typing a password. Instead, you use the more secure and convenient method — the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone — to verify your identity.

This method helps reduce the risk of phishing and stolen passwords while making your sign-in experience faster and easier.

Passwordless sign-in is required for access to Azure Virtual Desktop.

✨ Why Use Passwordless?

Passwordless is making sign-ins quicker, so there's no reason not to turn it on! In some cases, your company may require you to use passwordless sign-in.

You can enable Passwordless Sign-in after registering the Microsoft Authenticator app. If you haven't setup Authenticator yet, follow the Authenticator Setup Guide, then come back here to setup Passwordless.

📱 How to Enable Passwordless

After you have registered your Microsoft Authenticator app, follow the steps below to enable phone sign-in:

1. Open Microsoft Authenticator
2. Select your Work Account from the list.
3. Select 'Setup Passwordless Signin'.

Follow the instructions in the app to finish registering the account for passwordless phone sign-in.

Passwordless Sign-in is successfully configured when your Authenticator App says 'Passwordless enabled', as shown below.
